Community Fridge

You can now find a community fridge at the Urbandale Public Library in the Justin Martin Community Room. Together with the City of Urbandale and Food GRID, this initiative aims to eliminate food insecurity and reduce food waste.
Our Two Main Goals
- Reduce food waste. By sharing surplus food, we help keep fresh, nutritious items out of landfills and put to good use in Urbandale.
- Eliminate Food Insecurity. The community fridge is a free resource to ensure everyone has access to fresh, nutritious food.
Operating Hours
The community refrigerator will be accessible during normal library operating hours. When the Urbandale Public Library is closed, the refrigerator will not be accessible. Disclaimer: The contents of this fridge may contain allergens, including but not limited to milk, nuts, eggs, gluten, and soy. Individuals with food allergies or sensitivities should exercise caution and consume items at their own risk.
